Based in Williamsburg, VA, the Korea Zero Foundation is dedicated to preserving the testimonies and memories of Korean War veterans in the United States and South Korea. We are dedicated to honoring, supporting, and advocating for Korean War Veterans and their families. Our mission is to serve as a beacon of gratitude and appreciation for the brave men and women who served during the Korean War, embodying our nation's enduring commitment to honor their valor and legacy.
The Korea Zero Foundation endeavors to project the importance of these veterans and their stories via digital media and interviews as well as providing monetary assistance to the veterans of the “Forgotten War.”
Eric Choi is the founder and executive director of KZF. His childhood was marked by journeys across Korea, New Zealand,Canada,and Japan. This enlightened him with deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and the interconnection of global history. His upbringing instilled a profound respect for all those who served to protect Korea around the globe. With KZF,he hopes to show light to all the veterans that helped serve in protecting his country.
Zion S Lee is the operational director of Korea Zero Foundation. His countless international travels and leadership experiences, as well as an academic focus on foreign affairs, led him to believe in the power of personal and sensible conversation. With this philosophy, he will continue to advocate for Korean War veterans until every stone is unturned and every word of thanks reaches those who fought on the frontlines of democracy.
Sean Lee is the financial director of Korea Zero Foundation. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Data Science from the College of William and Mary. As a student who has experienced the cultures of both Korea and America, he advocates continuing to spread the legacy of Korean War Veterans and their sacrifice in the war. Through Korea Zero Foundation, he aspires for all Korean War veterans from different countries to be appreciated.
Parks Schmidt is the Chief Historian of Korea Zero Foundation. He is pursuing dual bachelor degrees in Business Analytics and History from the College of William & Mary. His main interest in history is the Korean War, specifically the combat service of the US 1st Cavalry Division and its involvement in the Nogeun-ri Massacre and Battle of Sinchang-ni. Outside of Korea Zero Foundation, Parks also serves as the Founder & Chief Historian of Tales of the First Team (1stcavhistory.com).
Bryan Kim, Director of Public Relations at Korea Zero Foundation, merges his Korean heritage and nonprofit expertise to spotlight the Forgotten War's heroes. Raised in a Korean household with grandparents hailing from both North and South Korea, Kim embodies a unique perspective deeply rooted in the complexities of Korean history. Through Korea Zero Foundation, Kim strives to honor the sacrifices of those often overlooked in history.
Wonseok Choi is a student from South Korea and a member of Korea Zero Foundation with great knowledge in the history of Korea. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting at the College of William and Mary with concentration in Finance. Spending over 6 years in America, he learned the necessity for respect towards anyone who fought for one’s country. By participating in the organization, he would like to help Korean War veterans to be respected by all means.
